In early 2013, Ubisoft and Kung Fu Factory will see the release of their newest title, “Spartacus Legends,” on the Xbox Live Arcade (XBLA) and Playstation Network (PSN). Best of all: it’s FREE!
In order to make the game free to play, the game will feature micro-transactions. “Spartacus Legends” will feature an offline as well as an online verus mode, where players can fight as either Spartacus, Crixus or their own created character.
In a press release Ubisoft announced the Fame system to keep the cheater at bay:
The game ensures that competitive play stays fair through a fame system; the higher-tier the equipment that is available for purchase, the more fame that is necessary to use that equipment.
The final season of the Starz series, “Spartacus: War of the Damned,” is set to air in January, so expect to game to release around that time.
