Nintendo announced today that November 18th is the official release date for the Wii U. The 8gb basic Wii U…will run you $299, and for those hardcore fanboys you can pickup the 32gb deluxe Wii U that comes in black for a mere $350. With the deluxe model they give you a charging stand for the controller, the 32 gigabytes of memory, and “Nintendo Land,” which is just 12 popular Nintendo games.
Now, I am not much of a nintendo fan, so this really doesn’t do a whole lot for me. It has taken them 6 years to finally be anywhere near the same league as Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. The next iterations of those two systems are on there way, and with far better specs which, when following that logic, would mean better looking games.
Honestly, people, how many times can you really play a “Super Mario” game, or “Zelda,” or “Metroid”? I’m not saying it won’t be a cute little system, I’m just saying why spend up to $350 on a Wii when you can get an all-in-one media hub in the the PS3 and Xbox 360?
This is just my opinion on the the Wii U, what’s yours? Let us know in the comments below.
